We have a firm policy to promote Health & Safety across our business which we empower colleagues to deliver.

Our St. Albans site has achieved OHSAS 18001:2007, international occupational health and safety management standard. Shared learning from this achievement promotes best practice across the business.

We actively work with our insurers, risk management companies and external stakeholders to:

• Reduce the number of claims
• Promote Health & Safety and Environmental Health
• Remain compliant with legislation

Our Health, Safety and Environmental experts regularly meet and share knowledge in order to maintain NFT's leading position in terms of Health and Safety matters.

The company also provides a full rehabilitation programme for employees which includes Occupational Health support, helping them to make a rapid recovery.

Success at RoSPA awards

Recently NFT was awarded fourteen awards in the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2014, including fourteen prestigious Gold Medal Awards, all of which were delivered through shopfloor colleagues. These awards represent continued success for NFT in the RoSPA scheme.

RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) not only looks at accident records, but also entrants complete Health and Safety management systems. This includes important practices such as the strength of leadership and extent of workforce involvement.
